Despite scientific and educational advances, sex education continues to be a socially controversial topic, especially forchildren. In this regard, this study aims to analyze the existing literature on sex education and its relationship with the personality development of minors. The methodology employed was descriptive, using the PRISMA methodology for the collection and analysis of bibliographic data. The results indicate that sex education remains a complex topic and is often avoided by both parents and educators. However, the study concludes that integrating parents and educators is crucial for the integral development of girls and boys, as adequate sex education provides infants with the necessary tools to understand their bodies, establish limits and protect themselves from risky situations, including child abuse. Keywords: education; personal development; childhood; sexual education.
